Monday November 9, 2015
Awoke today to light rain and windy conditions. The owners of this marina are great. Tony and his son Matt are planning to downsize their seafood business and create a 5 star marina. They have one pier completed and plans are for 3 more. They are floating piers and first class. We plan on leaving tomorrow so today we borrowed the marinas truck to get provisions and a laundromat. We went to the super Walmart and bought everything in sight...at least it seems like it. Then to Best Buy for additional phone chargers and some inverters so we can charge our phones without using the generator. It took all day to get provisions and get our laundry done. Beaufort is the small historic town and just over the bridge is Morehead City with all the amenities of a small city. I'd like to stay here for a few weeks sometime. It's still raining but is suppose to stop by tomorrow morning. It would be great if we could leave at sunrise and get a good day on the run. Our plan is to take 2 days to get to Myrtle Beach which is about 173 miles form here. My cousin Steve McDade lives there and I promised we would spend a couple of days visiting them. Then take 1 or 2 days to get to Charleston if all goes well. I'll posts some pictures tomorrow.
