Thursday November 12 - losing track of time after being at sea for almost two weeks.
Correction on yesterday's blog - it should have been Wednesday Nov. 11.
Today, despite the gas problems, we will continue to move forward with our sites on Myrtle Beach as our destination. Fortunately, the dry gas helped and we were burning through the "bad" fuel.
We were able to line up a mechanic at our next stop to look at the generator, so we were back on track again. Today was the day, we would complete our journey through North Carolina and enter South Carolina. The only obstacle now was what is referred to as the "Rock Pile". This area spans about 15 miles and we have been warned by other boaters about the rock ledges that are submerged through this section of the ICW. You are warned to stay in the center of the waterway and not to wander to the outer edges of the channel. When we arrived to the area, this is the warning we saw. Sailboats in front of us were calling in to the Coast Guard to warn them of their entry to the area. At that point, we were a little concerned.

On the good news, we passed the area problem free. It was a beautiful morning and turned out to be an overall great day! We traveled about 7 hours today moving into beautiful South Carolina and eventually entering the Waccamaw River.
Entering South Carolina on the Inter coastal |
Wacca Wache Marina in Myrtle Beach |
We finally arrived at Steve and Cheryl's neighborhood just off the inter coastal route staying at the Wacca Wache Marina and spending the evening with some friends and family. It was a great night catching up on stories and old times.
